About DLD

Founded in 2007, Dana Lawton Dances is a Bay Area modern dance company unlike any other. Our dancers range from their mid-20s to mid-60s, and that's the point. Choreographer Dana Lawton creates work that celebrates the full arc of human experience, where seasoned wisdom and youthful energy don't just coexist, they make each other better.

Since our founding, DLD has performed across the Bay Area, nationally, and internationally, building a repertory of over 35 works that explore identity, connection, and what it means to move through the world together.
